Here at the Walter Lab we are interested in presynaptic plasticity and the mechanisms underlying synaptic transmission through Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism. We use genetic manipulations, live imaging, super resolution microscopy (STED), electrophysiological techniques, and computational modelling to do our research. We therefore look for cell biologists with electrophysiology background, such as patch clamp, optical imaging and/or computational modelling experience.

We welcome researchers of all levels interested in our research questions and techniques to contact us.

If you are interested in joining the Walter lab, send all inquiries to Dr. Alex Walter here. All inquiries should have a personal statement of specific interests and a CV.
